St. Martha's has generous members who care about our community and the world. Every member of St. Martha's has committed to contribute financially to the church. Those funds are used in many ways, including a tithe (10%) that goes back into the community to fund needs where our members are active. If you are ready to make a financial commitment to the church, click here for a pledge form.
As a church, we also have a commitment to fund the Millennium Development Goals, created by the United Nations and endorsed by the Episcopal Church. Each of these eight goals is designed to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015.
Beginning in May 2007, we will be taking a special offering each quarter to add to the monies being sent around the world toward these goals. In May, St. Martha's collected money and sent $1,690 to buy malaria nets for Africans fighting malaria-laden mosquitos.
Goal 1: Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger
Goal 2: Achieve Universal Primary Education for Children
Goal 3: Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
Goal 4: Reduce Child Mortality
Goal 5: Improve Maternal Health
Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Other Diseases
Goal 7: Ensure Environmental Sustainability
Goal 8: Create a Global Partnership for Development
